As the weather cools and the leaves fall bringing us closer and closer to winter, it becomes increasingly difficult to remember the feelings of summer. But then I look at pictures of summer weddings, like the ones from Brad and Melissa’s here in August and suddenly I’m pulled right back to those humid nights with the lightning bugs dancing in Echo Park. Summer is just so glorious and relaxing… its really no wonder that it is the prime wedding season! But if you don’t believe me, just look at these beautiful pictures from Brad and Melissa’s day supplied by the talented Lori Booth Photography…. they really speak for themselves!
Brad and Melissa’s color scheme was white, light grey, and yellow with just a splash of vibrant purple in specific details. Every detail featured these colors… from the shoes to the bouquets and everything in between.
Melissa and Brad’s ceremony was held at the gorgeous St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Waterford, WI.
Brad and Melissa actually met in their church choir so it was only appropriate that during their ceremony they sang a song together.
After the ceremony, guests headed over to our facility for the cocktail hour and reception while the Bridal Party snapped some beautiful photos in Echo Park.
When I first asked Melissa if she wanted to be featured in our blog, her immediate response was “Are you sure you want all of our crazy wedding party on there??” After looking through all the pictures from the day, you can really see what she was talking about! This group of people was crazy.. fun! Melissa also credits her wedding party getting along so well to allowing for some pre-wedding bonding time. She explains “The day before the wedding, we spent time with the wedding party. We all went to Lake Geneva for mini golf and lunch, and then we went to take old fashioned photos at Adams Family Memories in Delavan. Totally worth it. Most of our wedding party knew one or two others, so it was nice that everyone could spend time and get to know each other. We had so much fun together!”
If you need proof that their pre-wedding bonding worked check out some of the hilarious pictures below!
Brad and Melissa also got a little serious for some romantic shots of just to two of them…
But not too serious… as Brad gave Melissa the military treatment!
But in all seriousness, Melissa thought of all the details for her wedding…. for example, she brought along some grey chucks to serve as her reception shoes and painted her toes to be her “something blue.”
While the Bridal Party was taking pictures in the park, the guests were enjoying a cocktail hour in our Stars and Stripes Room with the outdoor veranda overlooking the White River.
After cocktails, the guests all moved into Liberty Hall- Parkside for a beautiful dinner and reception. Melissa really made every detail of the reception just as cohesive with the yellow, grey, and white color scheme. She selected mini succulent plants to serve as both her favors and place cards. She had a surprise groom’s cake made for Brad which featured Thor on it and was a tribute to their first date. Pictures of the couple at each age functioned as their table numbers and she even rented in Silver Chiavari chairs to make the room feel more cohesive! And it definitely worked.. just look at all those yellow and grey details!
Brad and Melissa’s reception also featured a lot of touches which paid tribute to their love of music and singing… Melissa’s aunts led a singing prayer before dinner and the couple also chose to have a band, Party of 10, serve as entertainment for the evening.
Overall the night was just one big fun party with tons of friends and family and I don’t think Brad or Melissa could have asked for anything better!
Congrats again to Brad and Melissa!
And a huge thank you to Lori Booth Photography for being so generous in sharing all these beautiful photos!
